The Friends of the Ronald McDonald House is an auxiliary group comprised of men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 who are committed to providing volunteer services and fund-raising support to RMHC which better the lives of children and their families in Austin and Central Texas. The mission of the Ronald McDonald House is to provide a “home away from home" for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Our Friends of the House focuses on supporting this mission by creating goodwill and promoting awareness in the community.

The Friends of the Ronald McDonald House will provide five annual volunteer service opportunities for you to support the House. Depending on the project, most volunteer activities will consist of one shift lasting 2-4 hours. The events Friends of the House members are asked to support include the following:
- Monthly Meals at the House – 1st Tuesday of every month
- Lights of Love – December 5, 2008
- RMHC Art Installation Party – February 13, 2009
- RMHC Bike Ride – May 16, 2009
- Limited Opportunities to serve on Standing Committees of the RMHC Board – Ongoing

Additional events include two tours of the Dell Children’s Medical Center in October and March and a Fall Kickoff and a summer wind down party at a local restaurant.
As a member of the Friends of the House, our focus is to provide support services in conjunction with the House for families with critically ill or injured children. In addition to the volunteer commitment, each member is asked to give an annual gift of $100 to the House. This gift is 100% tax deductible and will support the on-going operations and family services provided by the Ronald McDonald House. We want you to be a part of our Friends Group!
