Be a House Volunteer

These individual volunteers assist with all the basic functions of the House.  In this capacity, volunteers are often the first to welcome our families into the House.  House Volunteers also play a big role in helping clean and organize parts of the Ronald McDonald House as well as providing administrative help in our front office.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this position, and are asked to fulfill a 3-hour shift once a week for a period of at least 6 months.  The shifts run every day from 9 AM to 9 PM. Complete the volunteer application now.

Volunteer at our Family Room

The Ronald McDonald Family Room located at St. David's North Austin Medical Center is staffed completely by volunteers.  Family Room volunteers lend a caring hand and provide information as needed, as well as making sure the room is clean and properly stocked.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and are asked to fulfill a 4-hour shift once a week for a period of at least 6 months.  Shifts run every day from 9am to 9 pm.

Provide a meal for families at the House

One of the most popular volunteer programs is providing a meal for the families who stay at our Ronald McDonald House.  Groups of almost any size are welcome to provide lunch or dinner for our families.  Since this volunteer opportunity is so popular, you must reserve a date well in advance.  Please see our Meal Provider page for more details about this program and the guidelines that must be followed.

Hold a "wish list drive"

We are in constant need of supplies and foodstuffs for the families staying at our House and visiting our Family Room.  Please see our current wish list and the Top 10 Needed Items list.  Or please contact Jane Rose to find out what our most immediate needs are.

Adopt our Family Room

We would like groups to adopt our Family Room for periods of time to provide items that are needed but that we run out of often.  However, storage space is very limited there, so please contact Jane Rose for more details about this volunteer opportunity.

Help with a special event

We have several major events throughout the year for which we need volunteer help.  Many of these are listed on our Fundraising Events page.  Please contact us for further information if you or your group may wish to participate.
